Ambunya to miss Oilers clash, Agero makes the bench
By Eric Njiru | Fri 22 Nov, 2019 10:12

David Ambunya is ruled out of Kenya Harlequin’s Kenya Cup week 5 clash with Menengai Oilers at RFUEA after failing to recover in time.

Ambunya was injured on the first minute of last week’s defeat to Top Fry Nakuru and team manager Jim Mnene hopes “to have him back in a few weeks.”

Ambunya started at fly-half last week and his unavailability sees Lyle Asiligwa start at no.10 and Eric Shikuku at fullback while Brian Onyiego is named on the open wing.

Kenya 7s international Herman Humwa and Brighton Mwalawa replace Mark Omoding(bench) and Hillary Baraza at backrow.

Fly-half Eden Agero makes the bench alongside Pius Shiundu, Steve Biko, Malcolm Onsando, Nick Ndegwa, Brian Obwaya and Kenya U20 captain Boniface Ochieng.

Menengai Oilers seek to hand Quins their fifth defeat of the season with Clinton Odhimabo leading the charges. Others named by Oilers head coach Gibson Weru include Davis Nyaundi at fullback, Steve Arunga and Nickson Mogire on the wing while the day's halfbacks will be Abutali Wesonga and Andrew Odero.

Four rounds into the new season Kenya Harlequin are yet to win a game. They have led at half-time in the last two matches only to lose at fulltime.
