Willy Ambaka scored his 100th try as Kenya Sevens beat Canada 31-10 in their opening match of the Hong Kong 7s on Friday April 6, 2018.
Collins Injera also bagged his 251st try scoring Kenya's third after Andrew Amonde and Sammy Oliech had scored Kenya's opening tries. Kenya's next match is against Spain at 8.10am on Saturday morning. Kenya will then play Australia at 12.10pm on Saturday.
Other opening matches at the Hong Kong 7s saw Argentina beat Wales 31-10, USA draw 24-24 with France, Scotland upset England 22-19, South Africa ran over South Korea 45-0 and Spain stunned Australia 17-12.
Connor Braid opened the scoring before Samuel Oliech and Andrew Amonde make sure that the runners-up in Vancouver go into the break on the front foot. After Nelson Oyoo went to the sin-bin for a deliberate knock-on, Canada made sure that they capitalise.
They shipped it out wide, a bit messy and Kenya knocked the ball out. However, Harry Jones spotted Kenya napping and the quick line-out resulted in a try.
Collins Injera added to his considerable tally to extend Kenya's lead before Willy Ambaka accelerates over and scored his 100th try on the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series.
It was a great moment for Ambaka and as his teammates all realised what has just happened they run over to hug him. Finishing with a flourish as Nelson Oyoo made up for his earlier yellow card and added Kenya's final score.
